Hofmann, Joyce Eleonore (Marriage - 22 Aug. 1953)
Joyce Eleonore Hofmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hofmann, and Robert Hillmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hillmer, exchanged marriage vows Saturday afternoon, Aug. 22, in the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby, Wis., Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch reading the marriage ceremony. Miss Shirley Hofmann, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor and Miss Arlene Krueger, a friend, and Gertrude Hillmer, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Roger Hillmer, Mories McCann and Donald Boelke.
The bride was attired in a lace bodice satin gown, train with lace inserted three-fourths of the way down. The maid of honor wore a maiye dress, lace bodice, satin over lace. Her bouquet consisted of pink and white carnations and dyed mums. The bridesmaids wore dresses similar to that of the maid of honor but in aqua and had similar bouquets.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The wedding tables were decorated with candles, flowers and a four-tier wedding cake. Dinner was served in the church hall. A wedding dance was held at the Dorchester Memorial hall. The couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin.
Guests were from Milwaukee, Baraboo, Sheboygan, Chicago, Dorchester, Abbotsford, Colby, Minneapolis, Lanesbaco, Antigo, Owen, Missouri and Merrill.
